O gosto pelas artes, nomea­damente pelo cinema e pela literatura, levou Maria João Ibérico Nogueira a inscrever-se no curso de Ciências da Comunicação.

Tinha acabado de chegar de Bruxelas, onde vivia com os pais, e, estando sozinha, foi ‘obrigada’ a começar a preparar as suas próprias refeições. Rapidamente chegou a duas conclusões: não só estava no curso errado, como tinha que parar de comer tudo o que gostava, pois começou a engordar. Procurou a ajuda de uma nutricionista, começou a interessar-se pelo tema, e acabou por se inscrever num segundo curso, Ciências da Nutrição.

Hoje, aos 35 anos, a sobrinha do cirurgião Francisco Ibérico Nogueira sente-se realizada ao tentar ajudar os seus pacientes a alcançar os objetivos a que se propõem, tal como nos contou a nutricionista, que acaba de lançar o livro Dieta à Sua Medida.

– ­Como é que faz quando vai jantar fora com amigos?– É horrível, toda a gente olha para o que um nutricionista come. Estamos a ser constantemente observados.

– Não pode prevaricar em público?– Posso, porque temos a teoria de que não existem alimentos proibidos. Se for pontualmente, não é grave. Agora, não faria sentido nenhum um nutricionista comer croissants com chocolate todos os dias… Sim, tenho cuidado com a alimentação. Muitas vezes olham para mim na consulta e dizem-me que, como sou magrinha, posso comer tudo o que quiser, mas não é verdade. Sou magra porque tenho, de facto, cuidado. Se comer todas as coisas de que gosto, e infelizmente as coisas que gosto são doces, engordava. Tanto que engordei quando vim para Portugal. Em casa dos meus pais comia peixe, sopa e legumes. Quando comecei a preparar as minhas próprias refeições, eu, que nunca tinha tido problemas de peso, deixei de caber nas calças porque só comia o que mais gostava: hambúrgueres, pizas e batatas fritas, coisas boas mas hipercalóricas.

Pois é… nada de dietas milagrosas.. tudo é uma questão de maturidade, consciência e comprometimento.
